Mars Rover: Opportunity

Tim Weir 2/10/14
Pictured above is  a self portrait of the Mars Rover, Opportunity, that landed on Mars in 2004, ten years ago.The Rover, which is almost as big as a Golf cart , is still exploring mars. The picture was taken through the Rover's panoramic camera. What interests me is how the rover has only moved about 24 miles in 10 years, but also that the rover is ten years old and still able to be utilized. Most cars are rendered useless after seven years or less.
