Felix Baumgartner set a new record for the highest jump in 2012. Felix jumped from a balloon platform 39 km over New Mexico. During this venture Felix wore a pressurized suit, and on his descent broke the sound barrier. He free fell 36.4 km before deploying his parachute and went faster than 1,000 km per hour. What I found intriguing was that he was not really affected by the friction between himself and the atmosphere.
