Article # 3 Blog Post

This article that I read gives us information about the study of the early solar system. I found this article fascinating mainly because the studies of these scientists were on diogenites, which are an old type of meteorite that had an effect on the Earth and Moon's material. These aspects included the core, mantle, and crust. This buildup of heat began 4.4 billion years ago! What is very interesting is that these scientists believe that  too many siderophile elements like osmium and platinum are in the Earth and Moon's mantles because of diogenites. These diogenites I found out were formed about 4.6 billion years ago, and a team of scientists discovered these specific meteorites in Antarctica and the African desert. Therefore, core formation and accretion (addition) took place in about 2 to 3 Million years. I really had no idea that these meteorites called diogenites had such a strong affect on the formation of planets in the early solar system. This article is really cool, and helped me personally gain more knowledge about meteorites, and how effective they really are.
