"Giant Dust Storms in the Southwest." Giant Dust Storms in the Southwest. N.p., n.d. Web.
In Western America, signs of the 1930s dust bowl are starting to come back. This past summer Arizona was hit by a haboob, which is a giant dust storm that hits in deserts and dry areas. Knocking out electricity and created massive traffic jams throughout these areas that were affected. These were common back in the Dust Bowl Era and people think these will continue to hit these areas like; Arizona, California, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas and a couple other spots. A huge problem contributing to this problem is that the temperatures are so hot that more dust will accumulate in the air and that this will only continue. In Texas, over 90% of the state is experience harsh droughts and this is unheard of even back when the Dust Bowl was around.
I thought this article was interesting and important because it relates back to a huge epidemic in Americas History, The Dust bowl of the 1930s and people think this weather is only just beginning also that this problem could make the Dust bowl look like it was mild and brief.
I thought this article was too brief, it did not go into too much depth about everything. Most of the article was just comparing the weather in the West to the Dust Bowl and didn’t show too much about the science behind why this is occurring.
